What we collect

Gloss collects your email address when you sign in with Google and subscribe. We store your email and subscription status in our database to verify your access to the translation service.

What we do not collect

We do not collect, store, or log the text you translate. Translation requests are forwarded to third-party translation providers and the results are returned directly to your browser. We do not retain any record of words or phrases you have translated.

We do not sell, share, or rent your personal information to any third party.

How we use your email

Your email address is used solely to verify your subscription status when you use the Gloss Chrome extension. We do not send marketing emails.

Third-party services

Gloss uses the following third-party services to operate:

Translation providers— We route translation requests through multiple providers including Microsoft Azure Translator, Tencent Translation, Baidu Translate, and others. Your text is sent to these services to perform the translation. Please refer to each provider's privacy policy for details on how they handle data.

Supabase — We use Supabase to store subscriber records. Data is stored on servers in the United States.

Creem — We use Creem to process subscription payments. We do not store your payment card details.

Google OAuth — We use Google Sign-In to authenticate users. We only request access to your email address and basic profile information.

Data retention

We retain your email and subscription status for as long as you have an active or recently canceled subscription. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us at privacy@translatr.wiki.

Cookies

The Gloss website uses cookies only for authentication session management via Supabase. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
